Local Steering Committee Meeting, Bishkek


The Regular Coordination Meeting of the project “EU Action against Drugs and Organized crime (EU-ACT)” funded by the European Union Instrument contributing to Stability and Peace was held in Bishkek on the 18th June 2018.

The meeting gathered all project partners: relevant representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, Prosecutor General’s Office, State Committee on National Security, State Penitentiary Service, Ministry of Healthcare and State Forensics Service to receive feedback on activities being implemented by the project, as well as to discuss and plan demand driven activities for the next 12 months in capacity building, improvement of legislation and technical support for national partners, in the sphere of countering illicit drugs and organized crime in the Kyrgyz Republic.     

The project “EU Action against Drugs and Organized crime (EU-ACT)” will be implemented from January 2017 to December 2020 and cover countries along the “Heroin Route”: Georgia, Ukraine, Tanzania, Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan. Within three years of project implementation in Kyrgyzstan, activities will be implemented on training of law enforcement agencies on detection and investigation of drug crimes, improvement of international cooperation in countering transnational drug related crimes and assistance in conduction of joint interagency and international operative and investigative activities.
