One prosecutor from each of the five countries already members of the Black Sea Prosecutors Network (Armenia, Bulgaria, Moldova, Romania and Ukraine) plus Georgia will meet in Madrid next 6 of November to discuss the first draft of the BSPN regulations, and potential activities plan for 2019 and 2020.
EU-ACT is determined to set up and to support network(s) of drug-related investigators and/or prosecutors in the EU-ACT region, helping to guide and facilitate this process, provided that this initiative is accepted and endorsed by at least five General Prosecutors’ Offices of each region, at its highest management level.
At the Controlled Deliveries workshop organized by the Project in Tbilisi in February 2018, the prosecutors from the region who participated agreed that it would be very useful to set up an informal network. This initial agreement has been endorsed already by the management level of the Prosecutors offices of Armenia, Bulgaria, Moldova, Romania and Ukraine. The recent Prosecutors workshop organized by EU-ACT in Odessa on financial investigations brought the necessary impulse to go ahead with the network.
This will be a preparatory meeting for the first Annual Meeting of the BSPN which will be held in Bucharest on the 11-12 of December 2018.
