A 3-day Awareness Seminar on New Psychoactive Substances (NPS) will be held in Tbilisi, Georgia on 17-19 July.
The workshop was organised for officers from a broad spectrum of Law Enforcement Agencies, i.e. investigators, customs officers, prosecutors, penitentiary as well as forensic lab representatives.
Recently NPS phenomenon has caused a serious concern among Georgian society. The purpose of the Awareness Seminar is to introduce a phenomenon of NPS and to discuss topics as identification, detection, monitoring, production, trafficking of NPS as well as to review its prosecutorial aspects. The overall goal of the workshop is also to introduce European national and EU best practices regarding NPS.
EU-ACT is determined to support Georgian initiatives, combatting illicit drug trafficking and NPS abuse. The seminar will be hosted by the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
